Trolling 

Trolling is fishing with a line thrown to the back of the back while the boat is going at a slow to medium pace. Trolling is also done on shore; check your local state for regulations on trolling. The bait used for trolling depends on the species and size of the fish. 

Jigging  

Jigging while fishing is another method; while your let your line drop all the way the bottom you raise it up to 1-2 feet from the bottom and then you move your rod slowly up and down to attract the fish.  

Catch and Release  

Catch and release have been more and more by conservationists and sport fisherman.  This form of fishing has kept some species from becoming extinguished. 

Drift Fishing  

Drifting is another method that most party boats use; it allows you to fish over an assortment of areas and depth that you might miss by still fishing. You can either fish with natural baits or artificial flies. Drifting can be done in ponds, Lakes, rivers, or open waters the same as still fishing. 

 Still Fishing 

Fishing from a place where you don’t move is called Still Fishing. Either fisher from an anchored boat or standing on top of a pier can be considered still fishing. The idea of still fishing is to catch the fishes directly from under the water. No need to wait for the perfect season and during any time of the day. 

Bottom Bouncing  

While your boat is moving throw a line with a hook and let it drag on the bottom, it causes the bottom sand to lift and helps attract fishes to the lure. 

Live Lining  

When fishing in waters that flows and using live bait or natural bait is called Live. The line drifts while you are standing still. The flowing of the line it seem like you have a live bait.

Chumming 

Chumming the waters is used to attract the fish to you with real fish all chopped; guts and all, some fishermen use their own recipes like mixed oat meal, corn, pet food, even breakfast cereal. Chumming is not allowed in all states so it is important to always check the rule and regulations of your state.
